Junior Power BI Developer

Location: Head Office, Tewkesbury (Hybrid and Remote Working Options Available)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Power BI Developer. If you have a passion for transforming data into actionable insights and a strong interest in working with modern cloud technologies, we want to hear from you!


Your key areas of focus:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements.
  • Optimise data visualisations for clarity, performance, and usability.
  • Write and troubleshoot DAX queries and measures to support advanced analytics.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in the automation of data workflows and processes.
  • Support the implementation of advanced data integrations leveraging Python.
  • Collaborate on the integration of Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus) to enhance data flows and business processes.
  • Monitor and maintain existing Power BI solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with Power BI updates and best practices, as well as emerging trends in data analytics and cloud technologies.

What our Shoal needs:

  • Proficiency in Power BI, including report creation, data modelling, and DAX.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with SQL for data extraction and transformation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Azure services, such as Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Service Bus (desirable).
  • Understanding of cloud-based data solutions and integrations (desirable).
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication methods and experience with API-based data extraction (desirable).

UX Designer (e-mail and CRO)

Location: Head Office, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire (Hybrid Working)

Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum DOE

We are looking for a passionate individual to join the team, to help us grow and shape the exciting journey we are on.

We are seeking a talented UX Designer to work as part of our Marketing and Ecommerce teams, you will be responsible for UX design and testing, conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and continuous improvement to our customer journey comms sent via our CRM. You need to be passionate about continuous improvement and customer experience, a team player, be able to multi-task, have an analytical mindset and be willing to learn new skills.

Your key areas of focus:

  • Ensure all designs are optimised for mobile and fast load times.
  • Designing amazing user experiences online and across all digital touchpoints.
  • Improvement of the customer experience through test and learn strategies.
  • Implement design systems and maintain a clear visual hierarchy.
  • Work alongside copywriters to create cohesive, persuasive messaging and visual content.
  • Take ownership of the design lifecycle, ensuring pixel-perfect accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

What our Shoal needs:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX, from wireframes to polished high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Experience of analysing data results to derive learnings/insights.
  • Experience in developing UX designs like navigation, page routing, product page design and more.
  • Experience in digital design using Adobe Suite.
  • UI/UX Skills: Deep understanding of user flow, visual hierarchy, and mobile-first design.
  • Graphic Design Skills: Strong graphic design background with the ability to create visually appealing and conversion-focused designs & images.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with marketers, developers and ecommerce.
  • Detail-Oriented: An eye for detail, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment in all design elements.
  • Self-Starter: Problem solving and overcoming challenges.
    • Multi-tasking and running multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work on deadline.
    • Someone who is looking for a challenging role where they will have the opportunity to try out innovative ideas and have an impact on the success of a thriving company.
  • Coding: Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS and an understanding of the development process to ensure designs are feasible and optimised for the web.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of using Monetate or another similar tool (HotJar, etc.) for CRO.
  • Experience of using Bloomreach or other similar tool (Salesforce Marketing Cloud etc.) for CRM.
  • Experience in using project management planning tools (e.g. Jira/Air-table) for task management.

Store Manager

Location: Gloucester

Contract type: 12 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £27,500 - £30,000 per annum DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days over 7, Monday to Sunday)

We are seeking a talented Store Manager to join our Gloucester store, on a fixed term basis to provide maternity cover. You will be operationally strong with accountability for the daily operations of the store. You will also lead the team to be successful in their roles, driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well organised store environment.

Your key areas of focus:

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the store.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Train, motivate, and supervise store colleagues.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
