Junior Power BI Developer
Location: Head Office, Tewkesbury (Hybrid and Remote Working Options Available)
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 per annum DOE

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Power BI Developer. If you have a passion for transforming data into actionable insights and a strong interest in working with modern cloud technologies, we want to hear from you!
Your key areas of focus:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements.
- Optimise data visualisations for clarity, performance, and usability.
- Write and troubleshoot DAX queries and measures to support advanced analytics.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in the automation of data workflows and processes.
- Support the implementation of advanced data integrations leveraging Python.
- Collaborate on the integration of Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus) to enhance data flows and business processes.
- Monitor and maintain existing Power BI solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with Power BI updates and best practices, as well as emerging trends in data analytics and cloud technologies.
What our Shoal needs:
- Proficiency in Power BI, including report creation, data modelling, and DAX.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation (desirable).
- Familiarity with Azure services, such as Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Service Bus (desirable).
- Understanding of cloud-based data solutions and integrations (desirable).
- Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication methods and experience with API-based data extraction (desirable).
